As seen in One Thimble’s issue 14, the Timber! Quilt was designed with little imaginations and modern style in mind. Friendly cubs and chirping birds invite your little one to explore the great outdoors — even while snuggling under a quilt!

When you purchase the Timber! quilt, you’ll automatically get a free copy of the Timber! Reading Pillow.

This is a great pattern for anyone who likes or would like to learn how to appliqué. You can pick and choose which branches you would like to use and where you would like to place them (there’s also a diagram in case you like the placement as shown in the picture). You also have the freedom to add more birds, bears, or other creatures that you come up with!

The simple birch tree background is easy to piece, whether you choose to use a single fabric for each tree or to piece them in strips — you’re sure to get a look you love!

Pattern includes instructions for baby and twin sizes

  1. Sonya Degraaf

This was such a fun quilt too put together. Instructions were clearly written and easy to follow. Don’t be scared to try your hand at the applique, it is rather simple.
This quilt is now my son’s quilt that we take his monthly pictures with, using the bear for size comparison.

  2. Katelyn Wells

This quilt was so quick an easy! It is extremely cute. The direction and pattern pieces are begginer friendly, but the quilt allows for veteran quilters to challenge their skills.

  3. Erin Biggers

Such a cute quilt. The instructions are easy to follow and the results and just adorable.

  4. Brianne

This quilt is so adorable I put my fears of quilting aside and went for it! I’m so glad I did. Each step is clearly and simply laid out so there was no room for error, even with lots of littles “helping”. My son loves it so much he has to have it when ever he goes to bed! I recommend it to everyone!!

  5. Mary Brady

This was a fun project and the instructions were easy to follow. I have to admit I am not an expert appliquér, but with Rachel’s instructions, I was able to do a good job.
I had the best time picking out fabric for this project. I saw many different color combinations. I had a great time making this, and I know you will too.

  6. Debbie M

So simple and adorable! Great design and pattern. I modified the pattern to a summer theme with a deep blue background and lime green leaves on the branches, and embroidered our grandson’s name on one of the tree trunks as if it had been carved into the tree.
