My Top 10 Baby Registry Items

My top ten list for baby registries and wish lists! Don't forget these important items when making your registry for the baby shower!

With 24 weeks in and 16 weeks to go until baby arrives, I’m starting to realize that we’re on the downhill—January will be here before we know it! Before she arrives, there’s so many things to do: I have full intentions of an entire-house deep-clean, finishing up the nursery (which includes replacing windows, making curtains, making a crib skirt, and 1000 other little details), baby & birthing classes, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and oh- that giant party that we call a baby shower—that has to happen too!

Despite the business of my life right now, I have been spending a few late nights on Pinterest (If you haven’t seen my Baby Girl Board, you simply must!) and making a big ol’ registry list on Amazon and Babies “R” Us. I’ve found some truly amazing products that I just have to get my hands on! Today, I’d like to share them with you. So, without further ado, I give you my top 10 baby registry items for a winter baby:

Keep Those 10 Little Toes Toasty!

I’ve been on a desperate hunt for little knit socks for our sweet baby girl that will keep those sweet little toes away from the cold—most of what I come across is $5 or more for just 1 pair of teeny tiny socks! My sister just showed me these adorable newborn booties that are the perfect solution! These come in a TON of colors that you’re sure to love! Made by Zutano, these are all available on Amazon!

Organic Baby Bedding

I love organic, but price usually wins over organic when choosing bedding…not so for my baby! Burt’s Bees has an amazing selection of 100% organic cotton baby bedding at really reasonable prices! I can’t wait to snuggle my little one into this cozy and worry-free bed! You can see the full selection on Amazon.com.

Children’s Books

There are so many special books from my childhood that I can’t wait to share with my children! I did some tracking down of a book that I remembered pictures from, but not the title or author—I finally found it! Cowardly Clyde is the triumphant tale of a knight and his less-than-courageous horse, Clyde. I found lots of other amazing books by Bill Peet on this search, so be sure to check them out too!

Traveling With Baby in the Winter

The Perfect Car Seat Cover

I’m especially nervous about my little lady getting chilly when we go on all of our Mommy Daughter adventures (AKA fabric shopping)! I just adore this infant car seat cover by MamaDadaBaby. It’s the perfect way to block out any undesired cold and strangers during cold and flu season. It even comes with a bag for easy storage during the warmer months.

Don’t Forget Your Bag!

After a long and hard search for the perfect diaper bag, I think I’ve found it! The Empress Diaper Bag by Ju-Ju-Bee is the all-in-one, easy-to-juggle, backpack diaper bag that I was looking for. Not to mention, it’s really adorable! There’s all sorts of fabulous accessories that match it on Amazon as well!

Squeeze Pouches for Home Made Baby Food

It’s no secret that I am 100% into growing, canning, and making my own food—the same is true for my baby’s food! Once she’s old enough to enjoy the squeeze pouch, I’ll be cooking up my own baby food, straight from the backyard garden! I thought that these reusable squeeze pouches were the perfect thing to store food made in these baby food freezer trays!

The BEST Idea I’ve Seen (so far)

Boon makes those amazing and wonderful grass drying racks for baby bottles and other baby kitchen items. They make it fun with little trees, flowers, and all sorts of functional accessories to add to their “yards.” Well, their newest product is possibly even more brilliant than that! The Boon Bottle Washer is going to save so much time and effort when washing all my glass bottles! See it for yourself here!

Safety, Safety, Safety!

The Best Baby Monitor

The baby monitor has to be one of the biggest purchases on our registry (both in price and in importance). I’ve done a ton of research on the best baby monitors out there and the general consensus seems to be that the Infant Optics DXR-8 Video Baby Monitor with Interchangeable Optical Lens is the way to go! With features like emote camera pan/tilt, infrared night vision, talk-back function, and room temperature sensor—I feel better already about keeping an eye on my little girl while she’s napping.

Soft Surfaces

I’m not a huge fan of the bright, primary-colored foam puzzle pieces. I just don’t believe that every room of the house has to be taken over by baby paraphernalia (I can hear the seasoned mom’s giggling at me from behind their computer screens!). Alright–so maybe baby will take over everything, BUT that doesn’t mean it can’t be stylish! This foam play mat by SoftTiles is a big one on my registry for safety and style! Remember my giant fireplace? Anyone else thinking that it’s going to be the first thing baby hits her sweet head on? Yep! I’m planning on boxing in the brick step with foam tiles to protect the baby when she inevitably takes a spill anywhere near the fireplace.

Let’s Not Forget Mama

Just because I’m going to be taking care of my little girl 24/7 doesn’t mean that I won’t at least want to pamper myself (whether I do or not, is the real question). I found some really functional, yet beautiful things for Moms with babies to add to my registry too! This infinity scarf not only doubles as a nursing cover but also a car seat cover! Brilliant! And these teething necklaces—aren’t they just lovely!?

I hope you’ve enjoyed this little peek at my Baby Registry—no matter where you are in your pregnancy, it’s really never too early to start your registry! I will say that if you plan on finding out the gender, you’ll be glad you waited until you knew for sure. I started my registry before we knew we were having a girl and had a lot of re-doing to do once we found out.

What are your top ten registry items? Am I missing anything here? I’d love to hear your comments below—what things are you hoping for on Baby Shower day?
