Information

Bio

Rachel Rossi is the owner and designer of Rachel Rossi Designs. Her passion for modern quilt design is firmly rooted in the belief that people who sew and quilt have a special opportunity to create something more than a beautiful quilt. There’s a unique power that quilting holds, one that creates a community of hospitality, thoughtfulness, and love. Rachel aims to share and grow this community with modern sewists and quilters through innovative patterns, a helpful blog, and by teaching everywhere she can.

She started sewing (by hand) at just 3 years old, had her own craft show stand at 11, and has been making her own patterns and products ever since. Since Rachel Rossi Designs’ official launch in 2015 she has produced over 30 patterns! Rachel has a broad range of styles: she offers art quilts, paper piecing, appliqué, and traditional block styles. She likes to keep things interesting with traditional piecing, modern design, and new techniques. Rachel constantly wants to learn new things and hopes that anyone picking up her patterns will feel the same sense of achievement that she does when they step back and look at their masterpiece.

When she’s not sewing, Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter in their Lancaster County home. She loves gardening and DIY projects with her dad, painting studio nights with her brother, and all-day canning sessions with her sister. She loves spending time with all the people that she has been blessed to know. She is a program director at the Lancaster Modern Quilt Guild, and is often traveling throughout the year to various quilt shows and events.

“I think that the gift of quilting is so important, and that’s why I aim to bring it to the next generation in a fresh and innovative way. I hope that you’ll join me in my mission and create a world that is beautiful and maybe one quilt warmer.”

If you’re a guild or shop that’s hosting a trunk show or workshop, you’re welcome to use the class description listed on my Speaking Engagement page.
