Looking for a way to get the master suite they wanted with as little involvement as possible, my mother- and father-in-law approached me about designing their room. The problem: I live 800 miles away. Thanks to technology, I’m able to design a room remotely—never stepping foot inside!
Designing a room from hundreds of miles away? No problem! I set them up with one of my Flat Rate Packages, which worked out perfectly. Read on to learn more about how it works and the vision for the space!
I wanted to create a sense of architecture and stability, like the room has been and will be there forever.
The space will look like it’s fit for a world traveler, complete with (faux) animal skin rugs, Roman columns, and beautiful art. You can take in all of the beauty while relaxing in the salon bench at the foot of the bed or the corbel glass desk. A gorgeous chandelier fills the room with light filtered through hundreds of tiny crystals, creating a relaxing glow for the space.

The Details
First thing is first: I need to know everything. I gather information in a few ways, and most important are the online questionnaire and an initial phone call. You then send me pictures of the space and measurements. If you’re not far away, we have a meeting and I’ll gather all the necessary information.
The Rough Draft
After I collect all of the information I need, I take some time to create an inspiration board. This is just to give an idea of what the space will feel like, what the color palette will be like, etc. Here’s an example from this project:

After we discuss the inspiration board, I’ll revise my plan based on what your feedback was. Liked the painting, and not so sure about the color scheme? No problem! I’ll make changes as needed and move ahead with creating your room booklet.

Next step: I hand the project over to you. You’ll receive a package in the mail with everything that you need to create your dream room! Samples, paint swatches, shopping lists, project details, even 3D renderings to help you visualize the space—all are wrapped up in an organized booklet that is yours to keep! Now it’s up to you to manage the project. I’ve done all the hard work, you just need to order the items on your shopping list and complete any painting or other projects listed.
